The Official results of the 2018 General Local Election were declared on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
The Legislation
To ensure fairness, openness, and accessibility, local elections and assent voting are conducted in accordance with very strict rules. Background
On Saturday, October 20, 2018, the City of Nanaimo held an Election to elect eight councillors and one mayor, which together make the Council of the City of Nanaimo. The successful candidates will hold office until October 2022 which is the end of Council’s term. Elections BC is responsible for receiving and reviewing all Campaign Financing Disclosure Statements.
